Ulsoor Lake is one of the main attractions for tourists visiting bangalore due to its scenic beauty. This lake was constructed by Kempe Gowda II in the second half of the century. It is close to MG road on the northeastern fringes of the city. It is an ideal picnic spot where one can enjoy shopping, swimming and boating while taking a break from work or sightseeing. This 1.5 sq. km lake is dotted with islands, extending over an area of 125 acres. Near the lake there is a boat club, which provides hired cruises. A rowboat can be hired for Rs 60 for a half an hour ride. A spin around the lake can be enjoyed in Rs 10 in a motorized dinghy. A public swimming pool is also nearby which has carefully regulated separate sex-swimming hour. It charges rupees 10.
Ulsoor Lake comes alive during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival in the month of August or September . Also Gurdhwar, the largest Sikh shrine in bangalore is close to the lake.
Vishweshwariah Industrial and Technological Museum
This museum is a tribute to Sir M. Vishweshwaraiah, a statesman who worked untiringly to bring science and technology to the common man. It is popular among all age groups of people ,especially school children who can be found pressing buttons on exhibits that reflect India’s technological progress.
In its compound an airplane and a steam engine are displayed. Inside there are five galleries, each dedicated to a particular aspect of technology.
The room of electronics is very fascinating with wonders of science unfolding them at each step you go inside. The highlight of the museum are the five galleries: Engine hall, Electronic Technology Gallery, Kimbe Paper Metals Gallery, Popular Science Gallery and Childrens' Science Gallery. A visit can be an enriching experience and is recommended.

The Attara Kacheri
Tipu Sultan built the Attara Kacheri, which means eighteen courts in Hindi, to offices the departments of revenue and general secretariat. It is a two-story building of brick and stone painted in red in 1867. It is placed near the Vidhan Soudha that is white in color presenting a beautiful sight. Today it houses the High Court and several lower courts of Karnataka.It is a good place to visit as some of the equally beautiful building like Public Library, the Government Museum, the Visveswaraya Industrial and Technological Museum and the Venkatappa Art Gallery are a waking distance away.
