Nrityagram Dance Village
India is as famous for its beautiful locations as for its music and dance. The classical dances of India are an eloquent expression of our ancient civilization. Nrityagram is an attempt in the direction of preservation and popularization of the seven Indian classical dance forms. It is the most high profile art school in the country situated 35 kms from Banglore.

It was conceptualized and put to shape by the late fashion-model-turned-Odissi dancer Protima Bedi. It was set up in 1990 and since then has been active in nurturing dancing talents through the ancient system of 'Guru Shisya Parampara’. Nrityarama offers the long-term study of classical dance and its allied subjects, such as philosophy, music, cheorography, mythology, and painting.
Nrityagram has a perfect village ambience with mud buildings, greenery, shady trees etc .it was designed by architect Gerard daCunha, winner of the Best Rural Architecture Award .
Vasantahabba-spring festival-is an annual celebration of dance and music at Nrityagram where maestros from all over the world come to perform. This festival, considered the Woodstock of classical dance and music in India , is a dusk-to-dawn show at the open-air amphitheatre in Nrityagram should not be missed if one is planning a trip around the spring season.
Here one can also find Wonderful vegetarian lunches (chemical free, with home grown vegetables). It also has the facility to accommodate guests.
Bannerghatta National Park
Timings:- Nrityagram is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It remains closed on Mondays .
It is one of the most preferred excursion sites among the people due to the presence of lion and tiger safari park. It is about 21 kms from bangloreand is spread 25,000 acre of land including ten reserve forests of Anekal Range of the Bangalore Forest Division. It has a wide variety of animals like panthers, lions, tiger, bisons, and elephants wandering in their natural habitat. It also has a Serpentarium and a crocodile farm. Birds both indigenous as well as migratory can be seen in the park. The park officials organize a Lion Safari for those interested. Besides these fascinating animals this park also prides itself in having astonishing variety of trees like the sandal, jalari, chujjullu, neem, tamarind, zizyphus amongst others.
